One of North America's providers of in-home care for seniors is urging senior citizens to stay active during the holiday season. Home Care Assistance recently released a statement in order to guide seniors to a healthy and happy holiday.
“The holidays are actually a great time for seniors and the people who care for them to focus on healthy lifestyle choices that enhance aging,” said Kathy Johnson, CEO of Home Care Assistance. “We incorporated these choices into our Balanced Care Method because our goal is to promote maximum independence and a healthier lifespan for our clients.”
Home Care Assistance released its Balanced Care Method to provide a blueprint for healthy longevity, including healthy nutrition, physical and mental stimulation, which can engender a sense of calmness and purpose.
According to a U.S. Census report, the number of senior citizens older than 90 almost tripled, from 720,000 people in 1980 to 1.9 million in 2010.
Seniors often become less active around the holiday time, leaving them more susceptible to health dangers. While it's wise to take steps to stay active and healthy during the holidays, its also a good idea to invest in life insurance, to prepare for unforeseen and unavoidable health events.
