The United Security Life and Health Insurance Company recently announced that, in recognition of September being National Life Insurance Awareness Month, the company will donate $10 to the Fisher House Foundation for every new life insurance policy written during the month. The donations will be in addition to the one dollar donation the company already makes for every new business application.
The Fisher House Foundation builds homes for the families of sick, injured or wounded veterans on the grounds of military and VA medical centers, allowing families to remain close to their loved ones receiving treatment. The Foundation also supports the families of wounded veterans financially and accepts donated frequent flyer miles, which allow active military members and their families to travel.
USL and H provides life insurance to a number of Americans and is licensed in Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska. The company currently provides two general life insurance plans, and will introduce a term life insurance plan later this year.
Life insurance is designed to transfer potential risks and reduce loss anxiety. Since the economic downturn, many Americans have abandoned the individual life insurance policy, and many premiums are at historic lows, dropping 16 percent in 2010, according to the Insurance Information Institute.
