According to Jackson National Life Insurance, the company's variable annuities sales recently displaced those of Prudential Financial as the top service in customer satisfaction.
A Cogent Research Poll of 1,634 financial advisers measured their satisfaction across a number of variable annuities service features, for example, internal support structures, a category that Jackson National scored extremely high in, helping the company supplant Prudential, which remains one of the top variable annuities providers.
"Jackson ranks higher than any other firm on that particular metric," said John Meunier, principal at Cogent Research LLC. "When advisers are satisfied, it differentiates the brand."
Meunier noted that advisors polled were also particularly impressed with Prudential's guarantees features, one of which offers the highest daily rate.
Lincoln National Life Insurance and Metlife also scored well in the poll, suggesting a favorable standing with many financial advisers.
According to the Insurance Information Institute, Prudentuial was the second highest writer of individual annuities in 2010, with a market share of 10.7 percent and Jackson National was the third, with a share of 7.7 percent.
