Liberty Mutual announces launch of new website

The Liberty Mutual Insurance Group recently announced the launch of a new website for its customers designed to keep life insurance policyholders up to date on the latest news and research in the industry. The site will also include a number of simple tools to help families calculate different costs and keep them aware of their financial standing.

The website, whose services are rendered free of charge to Liberty Mutual customers, will feature guidance on just about every aspect of the life insurance process, with tools like a funeral expense calculator, identity theft protection practices, legal guidance and advice on emotionally coping with loss while simultaneously addressing financial issues.

"The Life Services website helps employees address key life challenges," said Nazneen Vimadalal, the vice president of group benefits, marketing and product for Liberty Mutual. "Providing employees with access to useful information adds value to the employer and employee experience beyond the financial protection offered by life insurance."

According to the Insurance Information Institute, although the market has seen some promising gains in recent months, insurance ownership remains at significant lows. In 2010, only one in three Americans subscribed to an individual insurance policy.
