Guardian Life Insurance Company offers online insurance management platform to businesses

09/29/11

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America recently announced the launch of its EnrollmentWorks program, a comprehensive online enrollment platform that aims to simplify life insurance enrollment and monitoring processes for employers and employees.

For policy holders, the benefits management service includes access to insurance benefits packages, comparative analysis tools, bill payment capabilities and other useful programs. By offering employees access to consolidated, easy to access insurance information, Guardian says that enrollment in company insurance policies will increase. The EnrollmentWorks program is offered to businesses unilaterally, regardless of their insurance carrier.

"Guardian is committed to making the benefits enrollment and management process as convenient, efficient and seamless as possible by mitigating the factors that prevent employees from fully participating in their benefits programs," said Chris Swanker, Guardian's vice president of worksite and sponsored markets.

According to a 2011 LIMRA study, 56 percent of workers in the United States were enrolled in a life insurance policy through their employer in 2010, an increase from 48 percent in 2004. Despite the increase in enrollment percentage, the average amount of life insurance coverage dropped by $6,000 between 2009 and 2010.
