Allstate Insurance is reaching out to consumers in honor of Life Insurance Awareness Month with simplified information on the offerings and importance of life insurance.
"The good news is that life insurance companies have recognized the need to simplify and better explain their products," said Shayna Schulz, Allstate vice president of corporate relations. "Navigating the decision to purchase life insurance is not as complicated as you might think - especially with a bit of assistance from a licensed life insurance agent."
Schulz offered a number of tips for interested consumers to consider before shopping around for a life insurance policy. She suggests seeking professional help, doing research before committing to anything, only considering products you understand completely, choosing a company with a good report card and one that you know and trust.
When consulting a report card, A.M. Best and Fitch are two companies known for their trusted rating system. A.M. Best is the world's oldest and most authoritative insurance rating source and Fitch is also known for its assessment of the life insurance industry.
