Look for experience
The "About us" portion of an agency’s website is the agency’s chance to brag. Look for clues about its history. How long an agency has been in business is also a clue. The insurance industry is rather heavily regulated, so an agency which has been in business for multiple decades probably does not indulge in illegal and unethical practices.
Look for security
If you’re reading this, it’s because you’re shopping for life insurance online, so internet security is of vital importance. Ensure that your agency encrypts any personal information that you might send them through their website. Look for a security signature or security seal.
