She continued to discuss the two major reasons she feels many of us don’t review our coverage amount and why some of us avoid getting life insurance all together. In her opinion, life insurance forces people to acknowledge the concepts of: “1. Our own mortality and 2. The monetary value we should place on our own lives.

“Regardless of what you think your life is worth, be it 5, 6 or even 7 figures, in death we all leave behind bills.  Because dying might be final but it sure ain’t cheap.  After our last breath is taken, there are still many details to be attended to by our family members,” she says.

Great points Patti! It is worth it for both families and individuals to regularly pay attention to the nickels and dimes of life. Whether or not it is something you want to think about, it is something you HAVE to think about. Mortality is a part of life and people should be prepared by protecting their family’s financial future.

Congratulations to Cliff Crocker, winner of the www.WholesaleInsurance.net Life Insurance Blog Contest!

In his blog, imightbearedhead.blogspot.com, Cliff wrote a post about his need to conquer and take risks. This need of his eventually inspired him to sky-dive!

“What a rush! It was a such an incredible experience and everything went flawlessly. But that odd little unfamiliar feeling got me thinking. I’m an occasionally reckless twenty-something who will probably become an occasionally reckless thirty-something with a family to take care of. What happens if I pull a stunt like that and things DON’T go flawlessly? What happens to my family if my need to conquer the mountain goes horribly wrong? Cliff went on to share with his readers what his original perception of life insurance was, “As far as the movies told me, it was a bounty on your head to whatever greedy family member you had tied to the policy.”

And how today, his perception has drastically changed, “The reason someone gets life insurance is because they care about their family. If I’m the sole earner in my house so my wife can take care of our kids, my death would put them in financial and family ruin.

“Dealing with the trauma of my passing is hard enough. Now stack on bill after bill, calls from creditors, calls from your bank wondering why you didn’t make last month’s payment, even grocery shopping! Debt piles up pretty quickly in a family household with zero income.”
